As the son of a United Methodist Minister, Brent was a native to many Western North Carolina communities.  Haywood County has been home for 20 years now.  Brent received his Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Technology from Appalachian State University (Go Mountaineers!) and completed his Masters in Business Administration from Western Carolina University.

Brent has spent over 20 years in various roles in manufacturing, training, engineering, sales support, marketing, design, and leadership.  Brent has experienced the value of transformation in many companies who have adopted the principles of the Toyota Manufacturing System.  Brent has first hand experience in implementing transformation techniques through various tools such as Zone control, A3 thinking, Hoshin Planning, and Six Sigma methodology.  Brent currently holds the position of Zone Leader at Evergreen Packaging where he continues to sharpen his skills in leadership and cultural transformation.

Brent has a unique perspective on the culture of church leadership from both the leadership and the laity side of the equation.  Growing up as a minister’s son he was able to see first hand the success and failures of transformations.  Now serving in a leadership role in his own church he can bring a unique advantage to the issues that face the church in their struggles and accomplishments by drawing from his experiences growing up in the church and his experiences in his own career.

Brent is a member of Long’s Chapel United Methodist Church.  He has held numerous positions from serving on committees overseeing church staff and administration to now serving as an Annual Conference Delegate.  Brent is very active in the music ministry, playing lead guitar for two services every Sunday.  Brent is also active in Scouting with his son.

Brent resides in Waynesville, NC with his wife and two children.
